List of 2018 divisions

Welcome to our list of divisions for the 2018-19 season. Please note that these are subject to prior sale and are limited to the quantities listed. One division per plant per customer, please. There are also sprouted backbulbs available from selected plants. These are listed separately at the end of the list. Note that names such as '1643 A' are not true clonal names, but merely internal reference numbers, and can be changed after consulting us. Established plants in one-gallon or smaller pots can be shipped right away for those of you outside California; these will be marked with a star (*). All others will need to be picked up at the nursery or at a show. Orders from this list will be taken at list price; note that prices for plants in spike or flower at a show or sale may be different, especially for plants with multiple spikes. Please send in all orders via email to provide an exact time in case of multiple requests for the same plant. Last updated 12/1/2018, 9:00 AM.

Photographs are provided when available. Thanks to Art Pinkers for providing many of the pictures.

Valley Splash 'Awesome' is an unusual patterned 4.5 inch flower with up to 12 flowers on an arching spike that has bred some very striking patterned flowers in Australia. We are using it with several of our patterned parents to enhance the patterning. This is from a meristem. Gallon(2)* - $25
Valley Vampire 'Blood' is a sensational even colored bright red. It is amazingly productive and should be great for cut flowers or as a pot plant. Flowers in March. Should be a good breeder but we haven't tried it yet. From a meristem. Gallon(2) - $25, 6"(2) - $25
Via Ambarino 'Pacifica' HCC/AOS is a large flowered yellow with good shape that blooms in midseason. Photo is of the similar Via Ambarino 'Highland'. Tetraploid. Gallon* - $30, 8" - $35, 2Gallon(3) - $40

Cym. Via del Playa 'Pinkie' B/CSA is a nice clear pink round 4 inch flower with up to 14 flowers on a 3 foot spike and often has 2 spikes on a bulb. We haven't used this much due to the relatively small flower size, but the hybrids with this as a parent have been nice clear round pinks. Can be a vigorous grower. Tetraploid. 5"(2) - $15
Vogel's Wine '1615A' is from our fairly new cross of (Vogelsang x Brandy Wine). It is a nice novelty red with an arching spike. Tetraploid. 2Gallon(2) - $25

Wichita 'Princess' is a very unusual petal peloric pink. Loren would refer to this as a "cattlidium" because the ruffled petals were similar looking to those of a cattleya. Can be difficult to grow and bloom although these pieces are doing nicely; not recommended for the novice. 5"* - $200
Wistful (Quasar x Dorothy Rowe) 'FF' is a smallish standard dark pink tetraploid that blooms in the spring. Good grower and is fairly floriferous. 2Gallon(2) - $25

Yellow Candy 'Fool's Gold' is a fall blooming pure-color yellow tetraploid. It can easily make a specimen plant. Probably would prefer slightly drier conditions or a better-draining mix than most cymbidiums. Gallon - $30
(Autumn Crisp x Pearly Pepper) '#1' is a light orange tetraploid that blooms with tall spikes in midseason. 3Gallon - $35, 2Gallon - $30, 8" - $30

(Parish Jewel x Ruby Eyes) 'Sweetie' is a compact growing light red with arching to pendant spikes. 6"(3)* - $20
(Ruby Lips x Skukuza) '1961A' is a lightly spotted red flower. made with Ruby Lips 'Harlequin', a spotted flower out of a normally solid red cross. Gallon - $25
(Valley Sovereign x Avranches) 'Daffodil' is a nice large flowered yellow with some red patterning on the lip. Good grower. 6"* - $20
(Via del Playa x Pepper's Fire) '#1' is one of a cross made with the famous Pepper's Fire 'Fiesta' to attempt to breed the petal peloric characteristic. Growth habit is more compact; not quite as much as Pepper's Fire, however. Early to midseason blooming tetraploid. Gallon(4)* - $20, 6"(2)* - $20
(Via del Playa x Pepper's Fire) '#2' is another of a cross made with the famous Pepper's Fire 'Fiesta' to attempt to breed the petal peloric characteristic. We've crossed '#1' with '#2' to test a theory about petal peloric breeding, but none have reached blooming size yet. Larger growing plant, more akin to Via del Playa. Early to midseason blooming tetraploid. Gallon - $20
